Terms of use
The rules for using Botools, the platform to build and run Telegram and Discord bots.
Last updated: October 15, 2026
1. Purpose
These terms of use (the "Terms") govern access to and use of Botools, available at https://www.botools.io and published by BOTOOLS ("we").
By creating an account, you accept the Terms in their current version. The date of your acceptance and the accepted version are recorded. If you do not accept the Terms, you may not use the service.
2. The service
Botools lets you connect Telegram bots you are responsible for, choose their type (welcoming new members today, more types later), configure them, organise them in workspaces and work as a team. Bot types are released progressively: those not available yet are marked "coming soon" and are not charged separately.
The service comes in two plans: Free, at no cost, and Pro, a paid plan whose sale is governed by our terms of sale.
3. Your account
To use Botools you must be of legal age or have your legal guardian's permission, and provide accurate information. Your email address must be confirmed before you can access the dashboard.
You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for every action taken from your account. We strongly recommend turning on two-factor authentication. If you think your account is compromised, change your password, sign out your sessions from the "Active sessions" page and let us know at [email protected].
4. Workspaces and teams
Each account has a personal workspace and can create or join other workspaces. Bots, the subscription and billing belong to the workspace, not to a user.
A workspace owner is responsible for it: they choose who is invited and with which role (admin, member or viewer), manage the subscription and can delete the workspace. Members act within the rights of their role. Teamwork is part of the Pro plan.
5. Your bots and content
You connect to Botools bots you created on Telegram or Discord by entrusting us with their token. The token is encrypted and only used to run the features you turn on.
You remain solely responsible for your bots, the communities they are used in, the messages they post and the content you configure. You agree to follow Telegram's and Discord's terms and the applicable law, in particular regarding the personal data of your community members.
You keep all rights to your content. You only grant us the right to host and process it as needed to run the service.
6. Prohibited uses
In particular, you may not use Botools to:
- send unsolicited bulk messages (spam) or get around the platforms' limits;
- spread illegal, hateful, violent or child sexual abuse content, or content that infringes third-party rights;
- run scams, phishing or any fraudulent activity;
- collect personal data unlawfully;
- try to access the service, other accounts or our systems without permission, or disrupt them;
- resell the service or make it available to third parties outside the features designed for that purpose.
7. Plans and limits
The Free plan lets you use one bot, without teamwork, with the welcome bot and the "Powered by Botools" mention. The Pro plan removes these limits. Current limits are shown on the pricing page.
When a workspace moves back to Free, nothing is deleted: bots above the limit are paused and members are disabled until the workspace goes Pro again.
8. Availability
We do our best to keep Botools available at all times but cannot guarantee it. The service may be interrupted for maintenance, in which case a message tells you so. Bots also depend on the availability of Telegram's and Discord's services, which we do not control.
9. Suspension and termination
If the Terms are breached, we may suspend a bot or an account, after informing you unless there is an emergency or a legal obligation. You can contest this decision by writing to [email protected].
You can delete your account at any time from "My account". Deletion becomes final after a 30-day grace period during which you can cancel it. Issued invoices are kept to meet our legal obligations.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are only liable for direct damage resulting from a failure on our part. We are not responsible for how you use your bots, nor for decisions Telegram or Discord take about them.
If you are a consumer, these limitations do not take away the rights the law gives you.
11. Intellectual property
The Botools software, brand, logo and content belong to BOTOOLS. You have a personal, non-exclusive right to use them while you use the service, without copying, modifying or redistributing them.
12. Personal data
How we process your personal data is described in our privacy policy.
13. Changes to the Terms
We may update the Terms. For any significant change, you will be informed by email or in the dashboard at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you refuse the new version, you can delete your account.
14. Governing law and disputes
The Terms are governed by French law. If something goes wrong, write to us first at [email protected]: we will look for an amicable solution. Failing that, the dispute will be brought before the competent courts under the ordinary rules; if you are a consumer, you may go to the court of your place of residence.
